I didn’t think I would step into the world of vintage watches, and I most certainly didn’t think I would go down the rabbit hole of vintage Seiko watches. But here I am, and here is the jaw dropping 56KS 5625-7041 Chronometer, which draws design inspiration straight from the ‘Grammar of Design’ rule-book, and follows the Grand Seiko 44GS case design quite closely. I’m tired of modern Grand Seiko’s skyrocketing MSRP prices, and their inability to consolidate and curate their catalog. But I still respect and enjoy their design principles and products, so I figured I’d turn to their vintage catalogs. Surprisingly, most of what I love about modern Grand Seiko is available in their vintage watches as well, for a fraction of the price. So I might stay here a while.
